Mad Hatter

This was my own project I started towards the end of second year at Ringling and for most of the summer. After watching Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland. I was inspired to draw the Mad Hatter (played by Johnny Depp). At the time I was still new to working with oils. Now I have grown to enjoy working with oils. After my sketch was finished, I put it onto a canvas and started working it in with oils.

All White Still Life

This still life had all white objects, we had to also use other colors to show each one of the objects shadows (instead of using colors like gray).  Done in oil.

Tale as Old as Time

In my painting class, the teacher put the class is groups and those groups got to create our own still life. My group went with a fairy tale theme. We made a still life thats base from Disney's Beauty and the Beast. The objects we included were just some of the more recognizable images/characters from the movie. Such as, the candle stick, rose in a glass, a tea pot and a cup. This was all done in Oil.

Ballerina

Another model in a costume. She is dresses as a ballerina. Done in vine charcoal.

Toys in a box

This was a still life of my own collection of stuff toys.

Costume Figure

Sometimes in figure class, we would have models come in with different kinds of costumes. One of my favorite costumes is this Arabian costume. All done in vine charcoal and some color pastel.

Movie Night

This illustration project had to do with food. It could be a still life or a concept of food. My illustration is based of the old fashion cartoon images of movie theater snacks. This illustration is done in acrylics.

Fairy Masquerade

This drawing is done in Watercolors. In my illustration class, our assignment was to find a magazine that relates to our interest and illustrate for them. We also had the option of sending our illustration to the magazine that we picked, and see if our work would be in the next issue.

Flowers

A still life of flowers. Done in oil on canvas.

Umberella

This was a watercolor exercise called the wet on wet technique.

The Phantom of the Opera Dolls

Just like my drawing of Jack and Sally (from The Nightmare Before Christmas) as dolls, I went and drew another one of my favorite movie couples. Erik and Christine from The Phantom of the Opera.

Jack and Sally

This is one of my favorite drawings from my old sketchbooks. This was done while I was in high school, and I still will hear comment from people saying they love them as dolls. They also wish that I would someday make them. This is all done in pencil.

My photo reference for the Magic Painting

This is the photo that I used for self portrait painting (the Magic painting)

Magic

This painting is a combination of a self portrait and something that's to our interest. Most of my drawings and sketches have to do with some sort of fantasy and magic. This is my self portrait of me in a magic circle, surrounded by candles and casting a spell. The painting is done in acrylic.

The Phantom of the Opera

This is an illustration of The Phantom (played by Lon Chaney) from The Phantom of the Opera.
This is done in an oil rub technique with color pencils.
